<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Naturligvis er brochurer med Lastbiler, Busser og Motorcykler også velkomne.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Albummet bliver først interessant når der kommer tilstrækkeligt mange billeder fra medlemmerne, så jeg håber virkeligt at alle vil grave dybt i samlingen for at deltage.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:0.8rem;margin-bottom:0.8rem;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);line-height:1.3">Men, historien starter egentlig litt før dette, for i perioden fra 1945 til 1966, produserte Nordfjord og Sunnmøre Billag selv sine busskarosserier på eget verksted, totalt 43 enheter. Det var denne erfaringen, og fagkunnskapen, som ble videreført over til det nydannede selskapet.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:0.8rem;margin-bottom:0.8rem;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);line-height:1.3">En ny fabrikkhall ble bygd rett utenfor Stryn sentrum som ble innviet sent på høsten 1966, allerede da med en ordrereserve på 25 nye busskarosserier.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:0.8rem;margin-bottom:0.8rem;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);line-height:1.3">Første ferdigbygde busskarosseri fra Vest Karosseri ble levert 27. februar 1967 bygd på ett Volvo B57 chassis til ett annet busselskap i distriktet, Stranda og Sykkylven Billag AS.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">Produksjon og salg skjøt fart, samtidig som nye modeller og løsninger så dagens lys og ble godt tatt i mot av kundene. Karosseri nummer 1.000 ble overlevert til kunde 22. juni 1983.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">I 1989 startet eksport av karosserier, den første leveranse gikk til Sverige. Fra Danmark kom det også raskt bestillinger. På det høyeste var eksportandelen oppe i ca. 40% av produksjonen.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">Etter konkursen hos konkurrenten Arna Bruk Karosseri AS ved Bergen i 1997 overtok Vest boet, og startet med innredning av mini-/midi-busser der, den virksomheten opphørte i 2006.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">I Danmark ble DAB Silkeborg overtatt i oktober 2002. Den satsingen ble kortvarig, ble slått konkurs i februar 2003.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">På våren 2011 var det også slutt for Vest Karosseri AS, da ble selskapet slått konkurs etter en total produksjon på 4.350 busskarosserier. Dermed var Norge uten busskarosseriprodsenter.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="margin-top:3px;margin-bottom:3px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.521), 19px);">Hvorfor ble det slik? Jo, mye av årsaken ligger nok i at «all» buss-/person-trafikk her i landet ble lagt ut på anbud. Der var det kun laveste pris og hurtig levering av materiell som ble vektlagt. Kvalitet i alle ledd og langsiktighet var ikke noe byråkratene tok hensyn til, dermed tapte de små produsentene til fordel for billigere produkter, som kunne leveres i stort antall «over natten». Ved oppstart i 1967 var det i Norge 16 forskjellige produsenter av busskarosserier, noen av dem med noe eksport.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">De bygger lastbiler og busser, og i Zimbabwe kalder de både lastbiler og busser for trucks, måske fordi de læsser begge dele som trucks. AVM&#8217;s motor er en DAF, som i dag hedder Paccar.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I Zimbabwe kører man i venstre side af vejen, som man gør i de fleste lande der var en del af Englands kolonier.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">AVM er ejet af Paccar i USA. Paccar er et firma der er startet i 1939 i USA. De firmaer de ejer i dag, har de overtaget, men beholdt det navn de havde oprindeligt.<br>De fleste auto firmaer som køber et andet firma, de døber næsten altid det nye firma om til deres eget navn. Det eneste der er blevet døbt om er DAF motorerne, som i dag hedder Paccar.<br>Paccar har altid kørt med overskud. De ejer også Kenworth, Peterbilt og Leyland m.m,</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">En flot og ren AVM bus med læs på taget, og mange passager inde i bussen. Den kører på en god vej, men andre steder er der grusveje og regn. Zimbabwe er et stort land med store afstande.<br>AVM busser ser solide ud, men det skal de også være, det er mere en truck end en bus!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Den gule AVM bus holder på en busstation på vejen, hvor chauffør og medhjælper prøver at få plads til lidt mere gods på taget.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Stoppested på ruten, med gadesælgere der sælger frugt m.m. til passagererne. Der kan være lange afstande. Det er en perfekt stopplads med skygge under træerne.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dette er en ny type bus i Zimbabwe med anhænger til godset, som ellers skulle have været op på taget. Bussen er fra firmaet Super Rose, og er en Yutong bus fra Kina.<br>Der mange firmaer der sælger busser i Zimbabwe, AVM bygget på DAF, Scania med Irizar, Scania Marcopolo, Scania MCV, Yutong og Higer fra Kina , Man, Eicher og Tata fra Indien, og AVM bygget på Foden fra GB.<br>I Nigeria er mange lastbiler og busser 30 år gamle. Hvordan det er i Zimbabwe&#8230;? Hvor store motorer kører de med&#8230;? Men de kører langt og hurtigt, det kan man se på skaderne ved ulykker?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Det er et indbundet hæfte i format 28 x 20 cm med 45 blade, som viser først firmaets sejre i væddeløb, dernæst 40 forskellige typer <em>voitures automobiles </em>i profil, et par sporvogne og en enkelt båd med P&amp;L motor. De fleste profiltegninger ser ud som motoriserede hestevogne. Tekniske oplysninger anføres kun for den enlige lastbilmodel, der med motorer på 6, 8 eller 12 CV kunne laste hhv. 900, 1.300 og 2.000 kg.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Panhard &amp; Levassor var en af Europas vigtigste pionerfabrikker i bilismens allerførste fase. Virksomheden, der blev grundlagt som maskinfabrik til træindustrien, erhvervede licens til Gottlieb Daimlers forbrændingsmotor i slutningen af 1880’erne.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Panhard &amp; Levassor byggede deres første bil i 1891 og udviklede i løbet af 1890’erne det berømte <em>Système Panhard </em>med frontmotor, gearkasse midt i bilen og baghjulstræk, først med kæder og senere med kardanaksel. Dette endte med at sætte standarden for bilkonstruktion i en stor del af det 20. århundrede.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Allerede i 1892 udgav Panhard &amp; Levassor verdens formentlig første bilbrochure, som er udbredt i genoptryk. Et kendt fotografi viser en katolsk gejstlig, der i begyndelsen af 1920’erne får tanket sin driftssikre 30 år gamle P&amp;L.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Illustration i en instruktionsbog fra 1902 for Panhard &amp; Levassor 5 og 7 CV viser, hvor stærkt udviklingen gik omkring forrige århundredeskifte.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Frem til 2. Verdenskrig byggede Panhard &amp; Levassor navnlig ret store biler. Skærpet beskatning tog livet af fransk luksusbil-produktion i årene efter krigen, og Panhard lancerede i 1947 <em>Dyna </em>modellen med 2-cylindret luftkølet boxer-motor, forhjulstræk og karosseri i aluminium. Dette koncept blev fulgt, indtil personbilproduktionen måtte indstilles i 1967. Citroën havde overtaget Panhard helt i 1965. Panhard lever videre i form af pansrede militærkøretøjer.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Papegøjeplader 1957-1970:  En Farverig Del af Dansk Bilhistorie</strong>.  </p>



<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Betegnelsen “papegøjeplader” blev introduceret for varebiler i 1957 i Danmark som en udvidelse af en ordning, der oprindelig startede for varemotorcykler i 1953. Begrebet dækkede over tofarvede nummerplader til varebiler, der måtte bruges til både privat og erhvervsmæssig kørsel. Disse biler, som populært blev kaldt COMBI, var udstyret med for- og bagsæde og var ofte magen til stationcar-versionen, blot med blændede sideruder bagi.</p>



<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Combi-modellerne var kun belagt med halv afgift og var især populære blandt de mange håndværkere og små forretningsdrivende, der på den måde både havde en varevogn og en personbil. Dengang måtte man nemlig ikke køre nogen form for privat kørsel i en gulpladebil og slet ikke om søndagen.</p>

<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Muligheden for erhvervelse af papegøjeplader ophørte i 1970 p.g.a. ændringer i registrerings-afgiftssystemet. Af trafiksikkerhedshensyn fik ejerne af Combi-bilerne lov til at montere sideruder i varerummet uden at skulle betale den fulde afgift. Det var der mange, der fik gjort. Så blev vognen en rigtig stationcar, og det gjorde den meget eftertragtet, når man skulle sælge den.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Brochurer   </h3>



<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Combi-modellerne var et specielt dansk fænomen og en spændende historie. Brochurerne for netop disse køretøjer er derfor meget interessante for både samlere og historikere.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mens jeg var ude i den smukke sne, kom jeg til at tænke på, om jeg egentlig har nogle brochurer med snemotiv på forsiden. Det tog lidt tid, men jeg kom da i tanker om et par stykker. Der gemmer sig sikkert flere i samlingen. Jeg må lige kigge efter.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Når jeg så sætter mig bag rattet i Skoda’en, så mærker jeg ikke længere den ømme ryg og glemmer helt den fremskredne alder. Så skal der laves hjulspin og håndbremsevendinger! Heldigvis kan min bil stadig køres analogt, så det morer jeg mig meget med.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Baggrund</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Normalt er registreringsafgiften på personbiler i Danmark meget høj (op til 150 % af bilens værdi). For autocampere har man dog kunnet nøjes med en lavere afgift — typisk omkring 60 % eller mindre — for at fremme fritidslivet og turismen.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ombyggede biler</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Omkring 2003-2004 var det nogle kvikke hoveder der fandt et hul i loven, og det blev populært at bygge almindelige biler om til &#8220;autocampere&#8221; og opnå en betragtelig lavere afgift.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ombygningen skulle f.eks. bestå af:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>fastmonteret bord og siddegruppe, der kunne laves om til soveplads</li>



<li>kogeplade, vask, vandtank og eventuelt et lille skab eller køleskab</li>



<li>krav om visse mål og indretning, blandt andet krav om ståhøjde, før bilen kunne godkendes som camper af <strong>Motorstyrelsen</strong></li>
</ul>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Når bilen var godkendt som camper, kunne den sælges eller bruges med væsentligt lavere afgift end en almindelig bil af samme type.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Problemer og ændringer</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Der opstod dog <strong>kritik og kontrolsager</strong>, fordi nogle biler reelt ikke blev brugt som campere – de lignede mere almindelige luksusbiler eller varebiler med lidt campingudstyr for syns skyld.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Der var krav om at alt campingudstyr skulle ligge i vognen &#8211; hele tiden. Der var nogle som &#8220;glemte&#8221; dette, og måtte så betale en bøde plus den fulde registreringsafgift, som godt kunne løbe op i adskillige hundrede tusinde kroner.<br>Det fik myndighederne til at <strong>stramme reglerne</strong> og indføre mere præcise krav til indretning, fastmontering og anvendelse.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">I dag</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reglerne er nu mere kontrollerede, og Motorstyrelsen stiller skærpede krav til både indretning og dokumentation, så det ikke længere er muligt blot at montere et bord og kalde bilen en camper.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Brochurer</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-style:normal;font-weight:700">Danskerne har altid været gode til at finde måder til at omgå den brutale registreringsafgift, og brochurer på netop disse køretøjer er interessante som samler og historiker. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-style:normal;font-weight:700">Vi vil forsøge at lave nogle album med DANSKE Camper, Combi og Van modeller. Håber du vil bidrage med manglende billeder.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">På en af de tyske auktioner har jeg købt et ca. 100 år gammelt reklame-postkort for den italienske bilfabrik O.M. (Oficine Meccaniche) i Brescia. Motivet for postkortet er inspireret af et hovedværk i verdenslitteraturen, Dante Alighieri’s ”Divina Comedia” (Den guddommelige Komedie), som blev afsluttet i 1321, året for Dantes død. Divina Comedia havde afgørende betydning for udviklingen af det italienske skriftsprog.<br>Postkortet viser Dante i rød kappe og hans elskede Beatrice, der sammen med Vergil beundrer en O.M. bil, hvis forparti ses. Vergil var en romersk forfatter, der agerer fører for Dante i Helvede ”Inferno” i værkets 1. bind. Teksten er hentet fra en strofe af 5. sang i Inferno, der i Knud Hee Andersens oversættelse fra 1963 lyder: ”Elskov, som brat det ædle hjerte griber, i ham optændtes til det skønne legeme.” Men det sidste ord i den italienske originaltekst ”persona” er på postkortet erstattet af ”vettura” – vogn, så det bliver en kærlighedserklæring til O.M. bilen.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph">O.M. startede som lokomotiv-fabrik i slutningen af det 19. århundrede. I 1917 overtog O.M. bilfabrikken Züst, som var berømt for i 1908 at have besat 3. pladsen i løbet New York &#8211; Paris gennem Asien.<br>Den overtagne Züst-model 25/35 hp var relativt stor, men fra 1921 fremstillede O.M. egne konstruktioner, mellemstore ret sportslige biler med sideventilede 4- og 6-cylindrede motorer, der i starten kunne konkurrere med Alfa Romeo. O.M. vandt en stribe løb igennem 1920’erne og besatte f.eks. de 3 første pladser i Mille Miglia 1927. England var et vigtigt eksportmarked for O.M.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph"><br>Fra 1928 byggede O.M. lastvog-ne med diesel-motorer på licens fra schweiziske Saurer, og pro-duktionen af personbiler ebbe-de gradvist ud. Fiat købte O.M. i 1933.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph">Efter 2. Verdenskrig fortsatte O.M. med at fremstille lastvog-ne i eget navn, men fra slutnin-gen af 1960’erne var der tale om ”badge-engineered” Fiat’er, altså Fiat-modeller med O.M. mærker. Fra 1975 gik Fiat last-vogne og O.M. op i den højere enhed ”IVECO” (Industrial Ve-hicle Corporation) sammen med Lancia, tyske Magirus-Deutz og franske Unic.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">De første GAZ A personbiler og AA lastbiler svarede til de amerikanske Ford modeller. GAZ M 1 produceret 1936-42 mindede meget om amerikansk Ford 1933/34 med 4 cylindre. Under krigen byggede fabrikken lastbiler og jeeps.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Pobeda</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">En af verdens første helt nye efterkrigs bilmodeller var GAZ M 20 Pobeda (”sejr” på russisk), der gik i produktion midt i 1946 – noget forhastet. Som det fremgår af brochuren, var karosseriet helt moderne med&nbsp;<em>fastback&nbsp;</em>ligesom den engelske Standard Vanguard, der dog først kom på markedet i 1948. Motoren var 4 cylindret på 2,1 ltr. og ydede 50 hk. Pobeda var meget robust tilpasset russiske forhold, og der fandtes en cabrio-coach version og en M 72 med 4-hjulstræk.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Pobeda kunne i princippet købes af private sovjetborgere, men var i praksis tjenestebil for funktionærer på højere mellem niveau samt taxa. Den mindre Moskvitch 400 baseret på Opel Kadett 1939 lå inden for nogle russeres formåen.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Pobeda blev eksporteret i beskedent omfang til bl.a. Skandinavien og Belgien. En prøvekørsel i det engelske&nbsp;<em>The Motor&nbsp;</em>fra 1952 fremhævede køreegenskaberne; man kunne køre Pobeda hurtigt over dårlige veje med fuld last, men accelerationen var sløv og udsynet bagud dårligt.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Med løbende udvikling var Pobeda i produktion indtil 1958, og der blev fremstillet ca. 235.000 eksemplarer. I Polen blev Pobeda licens-bygget under mærket Warszawa.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>ZIM</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I 1950 introducerede GAZ en 6/7 personers limousine M 12 ZIM, hvor M stod for den sovjetiske udenrigsminister Molotov (jfr. S for Stalin i topmærket ZIS). ZIM havde 6 cylindret motor på på 3½ ltr. og 90 hk med 3-trins gearkasse. Stilen svarede til amerikanske General Motors modeller sidst i 1940’erne.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">ZIM var tjenestebil for højtstående funktionærer (de øverste kørte ZIS), og frem til 1959 blev der produceret knap 22.000 eksemplarer. På verdensudstillingen i Bruxelles 1958 var udstillet en ambulance-version af ZIM. Under et officielt besøg i Sovjetunionen midt i 1950’erne modtog de danske ministre H.C. Hansen og Julius Bomholt som gave hver en ZIM, der i en periode indgik i regeringens vognpark.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Chaika</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">GAZ M 13 Chaika (”måge” på russisk) afløste ZIM fra 1959 som tjenestebil for funktionærer på næsthøjeste niveau. GAZ M 13 mindede ligesom den finere ZIL 111 om Packard Patrician 1955, og den havde som 7-personers limousine en V8 motor på 5½ ltr. og 195 hk med automatgear. GAZ M 13 var i produktion indtil 1981, og der blev bygget godt 3.000 eksemplarer.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chaika GAZ 14 introduceret i 1977 var en ganske avanceret og elegant limousine, der blev produceret i ca. 1.100 eksemplarer frem til 1988. Det forlyder, at generalsekretær Gorbachev fik den indstillet, fordi han ikke brød sig om statussymboler.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I filmen ”Den russiske sangerinde” fra 1993 baseret på Leif Davidsens roman har skurken en GAZ 14 som tjenestebil. For en halv snes år siden så jeg en GAZ 14 som hotel-limousine i Havana på Cuba.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Volga</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">GAZ M 21 Volga var en meget vellykket bil i den øvre mellemklasse, der blev introduceret i 1956/57 som afløser for Pobeda. Karosseriet mindede om Ford Customline ’54 med plads til 6 personer, og den havde 4-cylindret motor på 2,4 ltr. og 70 hk.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Det var efter sigende krigshelten marshal Zhukov, der insisterede på den femtakkede sovjet-stjerne midt i kølergrillen på den første version Volga. I 1962 kom en stationcar udgave, der også kunne fås som ambulance.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Volga blev eksporteret i betydeligt omfang til markeder uden for østblokken, og vestlige diesel-motorer blev monteret i taxaer.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Afløseren GAZ M 24 Volga havde design som vestlig&nbsp;<em>mainstream</em>&nbsp;i slutningen af 1960’erne, jfr. f.eks. Opel, og den var i produktion nogenlunde uændret fra 1970 til 1986, stadig med 2,4 ltr. 4-cylindret motor og meget robust undervogn . Over den følgende snes år skete en vis modeludvikling som illustreret ved GAZ-3110 fra 1997.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">GAZ gjorde et spændende forsøg på at modernisere Volga med GAZ 3111, som havde retro-stilelementer fra GAZ M 21, men velhavende russere foretrak tyske mærker som Mercedes og BMW, og der blev kun produceret knap 400 eksemplarer af GAZ 3111 Volga i 2001-02.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Foreløbig sidste GAZ personbil var Volga Siber baseret på en Chrysler Sebring platform. Under indtryk af finanskrisen blev det kun til ca. 9.000 eksemplarer i 2008-10. VW Group Rus overtog GAZ personbilfabrikken i 2010 med henblik på produktion af Skoda Octavia og Yeti samt VW Jetta.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I 2024 blev en russisk udgave af den kinesiske Changan Raeton Plus præsenteret som Volga C40 – i forsøg på at genoplive Volga-navnet på det russiske bilmarked, der er kommet under stærk kinesisk indflydelse 9som følge af de vestlige sanktioner mod Rusland under krigen mod Ukraine.</p>
